Star Citizen fan art: Anvil Pathfinder

While I had purchased Star Citizen years ago, my buddy got me really into playing just after Invictus week this year. I quickly fell in love with Anvil designs, especially my C8X Pisces. I was amazed at the level of detail on these ships and found myself staring at small bits wondering how it was made, while also daydreaming on what a larger Pisces could look like. Eventually I decided since I was already wanting to learn more hard surface modeling and Substance workflows, why not realize my own ship? There's a lot of things I would do differently, but overall I'm extremely happy with the final result of the exterior. Consider this my love letter to the amazing high quality assets in Star Citizen, but especially to my Pisces (Be sure to vote on the Pisces as your favorite ship in the Ship Showdown!)
Final Asset stats:
4096 textures for the ship
1024 for the alpha cards
1024 for the detail cards

I envisioned the Anvil Pathfinder as a larger cousin of the Pisces; Able to house more crew and go on longer missions.

Refined concept from a rough doodle. While the final asset ended up being a bit more sleek and elongated, the design stays relatively consistent. Went into this project knowing I'd want the freedom to add or remove detail as needed, so kept concept loose.

There's something about snub-nose craft or boxy-but-sleek designs that I just really dig, and I think I accomplished my goal of designing a beefed up Pisces.

As far as armaments, I don't pretend to be a game designer. I imagined something like: 1x S3 Remote Turret (top circle area), 4x S2 Weapon hard points, 2x S3 Missiles (4), 4x S2 Missiles (8), and room maybe for a S1 bottom remote turret?

The idea for the front bumpers was almost like horizontal landing gears in a sense. It would have hydraulics that would absorb impact, with high powered magnets to attach it to whatever it was docking on.

While the design does obstruct peripheral views, the front and above view would be fully open with clear views.

The landing gears were designed in such a way that it could seem like they could support the weight, but also fully retract inside the vehicle without clipping into the interior.

Overall I created this asset over the course of about 2 months and 4 days in my spare time. I could spend another month polishing, but gotta call it done sometime.

The goal in this design was to have a roomy, comfortable interior with both captain and crew quarters (3 beds total), access to a bathroom and kitchen, and finally a large enough hangar to store ground vehicles (or *maybe* cram the Pisces inside? :P )
